Dine Contract Catering’ Managing Director, Ian Cartwright, has teamed up with the company’s first Graduate Trainee, Michael Court, to complete the Swiss Ironman Triathlon.

In an incredible feat of endurance that included a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride and a full marathon immediately after, the challenge embodied Dine Contract Catering’s employee wellbeing programme, ‘Eat Well, Live Well’, which aims to encourage a healthy balanced lifestyle among team members at all levels throughout the company.

“Nutrition and good health is at the heart of what we do at Dine Contract Catering and completing this gruelling physical challenge has been an exciting way for Michael and I to put our own personal fitness to the test as well as raise awareness of the importance of eating and living well – right across the business,” said Ian.

Michael added: “Completing this challenge with our Managing Director has been a huge personal achievement for me and the support and encouragement I’ve received from everyone at Dine Contract Catering kept me going throughout the tough training programme.”

The contest took place on 27th July 2014 and included a cycle up the notorious steep climbs of ‘The Beast’ and ‘Heartbreak Hill’ in nearby countryside.

Ian and Michael both completed the Ironman well within the 16 hour timeframe.
