Oct 2014 - DINE CONTRACT CATERING SPONSORS DUKE OF EDINBURGH’S AWARD MINIBUS

DINE CONTRACT CATERING PUTS CHARITY IN THE DRIVING SEAT

Team members at Dine Contract Catering's headquarters in Warrington were delighted to see the brand new minibus the company has sponsored for The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, as part of its ongoing support for the leading youth charity.

The bus will allow schools and youth groups to join Duke of Edinburgh's Award expeditions. The charity brought the vehicle to Warrington to give team members the chance to see the latest result of Dine Contract Catering's support.

Dedicated to helping young people between 14 and 24 years old, the Awards scheme is aimed at giving young people the life and work skills they need to reach their full potential. Many of those who benefit are from a disadvantaged background.

"The work of the charity ties in with our own efforts to raise the profile of the catering sector to young people, and help give them the tools they need to forge successful careers in the future," said Dine Contract Catering’s Managing Director, Ian Cartwright.

"To this end, each of the new Apprentices taken on by Dine Contract Catering every year are given the opportunity to complete the Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze Award and we're very proud of those from last year's intake who have chosen to progress to the Gold Award."

"Our support for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award is a great opportunity to further help young people and I'm very proud of what our Apprentices achieved through the Bronze Award last year," added Paul Bridge, Dine Contract Catering’s HR Manager.
