I've been a Head Chef at Dine Contract Catering for just over 3 years and so far, it has been amazing. I really enjoy working with such an excellent team at our site and I get so much satisfaction when our customers enjoy the food we offer. Our manager keeps things fun; no two days are the same. We do BBQs, curry days, breakfast specials, build a burger day, all sorts just to keep us on our toes and we always hope to make lunch our customers favourite part of the day.
I've recently started a Level 4 apprenticeship and have been lucky enough to be taught by Marcus Wareing which was an incredible experience! This year I've cooked at some huge events including Wimbledon. A number of our team have recently started apprenticeships (I'd like to think they have been inspired by what they have seen me do!) and I've started to mentor them. Seeing them develop their skills is great to witness and it's not something I'd have seen myself doing a few years ago.
I've been working for Dine Contract Catering since 2008, starting part-time to accommodate my childcare needs. Now, I work full time and have spent time in most of our sites in the North West.
The variety is great as it keeps things interestingand I've made lots of work friends. I've passed my NVQ Level 2 and completed plenty of on-site training. It's helped me to improve my skills and learn so many new things. My manager always makes work fun, our restaurant is really vibrant. I'm looking forward to many more years of development!
